Jungian Sandplay Therapy, developed by Dora Kalff and grounded in the psychology of C. G. Jung, offers a "free and protected" space for creative exploration of inner conflicts, integration of unconscious material, and the promotion of psychological growth. This non-verbal therapeutic method supports profound personal transformation and development.
This comprehensive two-year training program is structured into six units (Unit 1–6), each carefully designed to progressively deepen participants' understanding and practical application of Jungian Sandplay Therapy.
Each unit includes 6 segments, with each segment consisting of a 3-hour seminar. All seminars are exclusively taught by certified Jungian analysts (IAAP) who are also accredited Sandplay Therapist-Teachers (ISST).
In total, each unit provides 18 hours of instruction across its 6 segments, ensuring a rich and in-depth learning experience guided by highly qualified experts in the field. The curriculum provides a thorough introduction to the history, principles, and practical guidelines of Sandplay Therapy. It integrates Jungian theory, and it draws on his concepts of the collective unconscious, archetypes, and the individuation process. The symbols and patterns that emerge in the sand are interpreted within the Jungian framework as reflections of the psyche's deeper dynamics. This hands-on approach helps analysands to explore the Self and trace the movement of psychic energy (libido) as it emerges in sandplay scenes, reflecting the individuation process. Case studies of children and adults are included to bring theoretical concepts to life.
Seminars are conducted via Zoom, twice a month on Saturdays, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm (Singapore Time), with a brief break. Some seminar schedules may be adjusted to accommodate the teacher’s time zone. Completing the program fulfils 108 hours of coursework requirements recognized by the International Society for Sandplay Therapy (ISST).
Important Note:The Sandplay Therapy of Singapore offers theoretical training hours that contribute toward certification as a Sandplay Therapist. Participants outside Singapore should consult their local Sandplay organization or the ISST (International Society for Sandplay Therapy) for specific certification requirements applicable in their region.
