Janet trained with Dora Kalff in 1979, later becoming an assistant for her in the 1980s through UCSC Extension programs. She is a founder and assistant editor for the Journal of Sandplay Therapy, and is a STA Past President. She is also vice-president on the Board of Directors for the Philemon Foundation. In practice for over 40 years, she has presented both nationally and internationally.
